Pumpkin Upside Down Cake. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the cake mix. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; set aside. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the cake mix. Add to flour mixture, whisking until smooth.
Pour this mixture into the pan over the wax paper.
Combine cake mix, pumpkin, butter, eggs, pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon in a large bowl and beat with a handheld mixer on low until combined.
Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and let cool. Invert the cake and plate together, then remove the pan. Now combine the pumpkin puree, whisking until the ingredients are fully combined.
