Ice Cream Cake Frosting
Ice Cream Cake Frosting. The best way to frost an ice cream cake is with Lightly Sweetened Whipped Cream. Spread the whipped cream on the cake, working quickly so that the ice cream doesn't melt.
Remove the ice cream cake from the freezer and use a clean dishcloth soaked in hot water to defrost and loosen the ice cream from the sides of the springform pan. Trim the cake and ice cream so that the edges match. Add salt to the butter followed by a portion of sugar and do.
Prepare pudding according to package directions.
Add powdered sugar and salt on the lowest speed setting until just combined.
Place the first ice cream cake on a cardboard cake circle or serving platter. Gently smooth with an angled spatula. Add the vanilla ice cream and spread evenly.
