Make the Pumpkin Layer: beat the pumpkin pie mix, eggs, evaporated milk, sugar, salt, and pumpkin pie spice together until smooth.
Stir in cake mix, pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice until well mixed.
Lay butter slices evenly over dry cake mix. Tastes best cold with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream. Mix pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, white sugar, brown sugar and eggs in a mixing bowl.
