Nasa Orion Space Craft
Nasa Orion Space Craft. It is slated to launch atop NASA's Space Launch System rocket on its first deep space mission to pave the way for future flights with astronauts. No other spacecraft in development has the technology needed for the extremes of deep space, such as life support, navigation, communications, radiation shielding and the world's largest heat shield that will protect astronauts and help return them safely home.

Orion's avionics system was installed on the crew module and powered up for a series of systems tests at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida last week.

NASA Orion missions will launch from NASA's modernized spaceport at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on the agency's new, powerful heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System. The spacecraft consists of a Crew Module (CM) space capsule designed by Lockheed Martin and the European Service Module (ESM) manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space. Orion (officially Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle or Orion MPCV) is a partially reusable crewed spacecraft to be used in NASA's Artemis program.
